The promise
Never trained on. Private by default. Defined.
What "never trained on" means
Tabstack and its contracted model providers do not use customer payloads to train models under the agreements governing the service.
What "private by default" means
Detailed data collection is off unless the account opts in. Basic service telemetry, security logs, billing records, and other data described in the Privacy Notice may still be processed.

Who operates it
Mozilla, the organization behind Firefox, operates the service and holds the provider agreements.
How it is paid for
By the credits you buy. The product has no advertising model and no second revenue stream in your data.

Pilo, the automation engine, is open source, so you can run it yourself.

Controls on your account.
Detailed collection is off until you turn it on. You can withdraw cookie and analytics consent, and delete an organization or your account.

Retention
What is retained, and for how long.
Three different kinds of thing are kept, for three different reasons, and they are not governed by one rule. The Privacy Notice states the window for each and is the authority on all of them.

Limits
When hosted Tabstack is not the right fit.
- Air-gapped system? It cannot call a hosted API at all, and Pilo is where that starts.
- Need automation behind a login? Hosted Automate is for public websites and does not sign in.
- Policy prohibits hosted processing? Evaluate Pilo or another self-hosted approach.
- Need certifications or contractual controls? Ask us and verify availability before relying on them.
